How The North of Ireland Family History Society can help your research, by Andrew Kane.

Andrew Kane will detail the records held by the North of Ireland History Society and how they can be accessed and help your research within the nine counties of Ulster.

What we can learn from the censuses up to 1911, by Brian Donnelly, The National Archives of Ireland

Brian Donnelly will explain how to access the historical censuses from 1841 to 1911 and how to best extract the information you are looking for. These census records can be viewed free on the National Archives website.

What a DNA test can tell you and how you can interpret the results

Tracing your West of Ireland relatives by Lorna Moloney, Merriman Research

Lorna Moloney will guide you in your search to discover your relatives from the West over the last few centuries and pinpoint numerous references sources

 

3.30pm

Using the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland’s Map Viewer, Janet Hancock, PRONI.

Janet Hancock will demonstrate how you can navigate the maps viewer to recover the history of a particular location in   Ireland using digitised Ordnance survey maps dating from 1832.

Tracing your American relatives, Eileen Quinn, North of Ireland Family History Society

Reference will be made to some of the many genealogical databases available online when tracing your American relatives and  will reveal how researching your family tree and DNA can bring you face to face with your ancestors living descendants - your American relatives.
